About the Author
Sir Roy Harrod became part of Keynes' circle in the 1930s and was encouraged by him to develop his work on the theory of growth which he first subtantially stated in "The Trade Cycle," In 1945 he succeeded Keynes as Editor of the" Economic Journal "and retained the Editorship until his retirement in 1966. In 1959 he was knighted for his academic and public service.
Peter Oppenheimer, who provides the Introduction to this collection, is a distinguished Oxford economist.

Satisfactory.. but it's a shame

After finishing this book I felt disappointed. I wanted to like it and it was recommended by someone that I value their opinion. I think the problem was I just finished "Prophet of Innovation: Joseph Schumpeter and Creative Destruction" and that is an absolutely great book. This book was boring in spots and didn't explain enough of Keynes ideas. If you want to read a great book on economists, please read the book I just mentioned. I'm disappointed in the one but it just has too many issues to warrant a higher recommendation.

Harrod's biography is a good read if the reader is simply interested in general information about Keynes concerning his background,where he went to school,his friends and assocates,his multifacted and varied interests and successes in many different areas of life,etc.
The problem is that Harrod never understood the technical nature of the A Treatise on Probability or General Theory(GT).He basically concluded that the GT WAS the Chapter 10 analysis that revolved around the marginal propensity ot consume(mpc),the multiplier,and the Y=C+I model where C=bY,where b=mpc and 0

I found Thrive a spiritually uplifting, transformative, and well written resource for life change. Thrive gave me permission to create a rhythm of life-giving disciplines that fit well with how God designed me. Meyer's encouragement to write my own rule of life with realistic expectations and flexibility freed me from a 'one size fits all' approach to nurturing my relationship with Christ. A Fresh Take on Spiritual Disciplines
What a refreshing and inspiring book! The author paints a clear picture to finding a "more life-giving way," a way to find Jesus amidst the chaos of modern life. I loved the structure of this book and the whole idea behind a developing a "rule of life.” The book walks the reader through developing a personal “rule of life,” an ancient practice that has a way of centering modern readers. I also loved the focus on getting into God’s rhythm for our life, something badly needed in today’s harried culture. I found the book challenging and thought-provoking. If you’re looking for inspiration, a book to help breathe new life into your spiritual life, you’ll like Thrive.

Second, it starts with basic economic concepts and builds five competing theoretical approaches to understanding financial crises. Competing theoretical standpoints offer different interpretations of the same event, and draw dissimilar policy implications.
