THE Low back pain text.
By Julian R
There's no doubt that there is only ONE low back pain book. This edition represents the culmination of Dr. Cox's life's work. He has been incredibly influential in chiropractic and beyond. This is (unfortunately) likely to be the final edition of this text by Dr. Cox and should be a must-have for all chiropractors and other practitioners who treat low back pain. Don't look at the price tag as anything more than a small pittance for the work he has done over the years. Just buy the book and attempt to learn from a true master. It should be standard of care for all practitioners who encounter low back pain to have thoroughly studied this gold standard.

A best-selling textbook on management of low back pain UPDATED!!
By Dr. Scott Cuthbert
Dr. James M. Cox has done it again!! The 7th edition of this classic textbook is thrilling. Cox flexion-distraction technique is a non-surgical, doctor-controlled, hands-on spinal manipulation performed with the patient lying on a specially designed chiropractic instrument.
Dr. Cox's first editions of this textbook was the best, densest, most convincing presentation of a chiropractic technique that followed the rules of Evidence-Based Medicine and Practice. This book and the technique it represents is a specialty within the chiropractic profession, focusing primarily upon methods to relieve discogenic lower back pain, neck pain, arm pain, leg pain and a host of other spinal related conditions like disc herniation, spinal stenosis, and post-surgical continued pain. Dr. Cox has spent nearly 50 years documenting the science of this non-surgical alternative to back surgery. Flexion-Distraction technique's evidence-based protocols are regularly tested in laboratory and clinical trials supported by privately and federally funded research grants.
People seeking relief for lower back and leg pain can be assured knowing that the Cox flexion distraction protocols are safe, gentle, and well-documented to help them. In fact there are few methodologies in chiropractic -- the acknowledged leaders in the management of acute and chronic low back and neck pain syndromes -- that have been investigated to the extent of this technique.
A classic textbook for students, clinicians, researchers and patients...this book is one in a million. Highly recommended!
-- Scott Cuthbert, D.C., author of Applied Kinesiology Essentials: The Missing Link in Health Care (2013), and Applied Kinesiology: Clinical Techniques for Lower Body Dysfunctions (2013).
