Read this before purchasing a used book between $3 and $20 and make sure CD is included, it's the only way to take the practice

Great book but make sure you purchase it with the CD, which has all the practice exams. Without the CD all you have are the test answers in the back of the book. Taking the practice tests is where you are going to spend most of your time and get the most benefit out of this book! Also be careful buying this book from the sellers who are listing it at between $3--$20 as they likely are not including the CD. Also look for the 2013 edition rather than the 2012, I know the 2013 works great if you are planning to take the test anytime before 2016. One more thing, I would recommend buying a book without highlighting in it as it can throw you off as to where you need to focus and limit your own ability to really learn and what you are reading. Good luck, I just took the test at the end of April and passed on my first try, couldn't have done it without this book. The flash cards were also very helpful!

Good book but lacking in some information

Its a good book to study for the basics in the NPTE exam, I passed the exam with my first attempt. The musculoskeletal section is especially weak compared to the O'sullivan book. The Neurology and research section are probably the best part of the book.Overall, it is a good starting book to read if you are preparing for the exams, I would recommend that you read the O'sullivan book also, as a lot of information is included in that book compared to this one which seems to skim over stuff. The information is well presented in tables and in highlighted colorful sections with emphasis on important information to know for the exam. i would recommend this book as a starting book but read the O'sullivan as well.

Basically what I expected - minor discrepancies noted

Outlines material expected on the PT exam. Pretty much what I expected it to be, no surprises (good or bad).

I did notice some small discrepancies, such as the book stating that the deep peroneal nerve innervates the lumbricals and interossei in the feet. I'd recommend that if you're uncertain about content in this book, to double check it with a PT textbook. I verified a few errors already.

a good read

This is a very readable book (I read it in a couple of evenings) that goes into quite a bit of detail about the spirits that come against us to steal our destinies. Not just the usual ones discussed either. The author covers the spirits of Amalekite, Belial and Athaliah, as well as Jezebel... (the regulars :). She explains how they operate (their tactics) and gives very specific counsel on how to be set free from them. I found the book easy to read, even though the content isn't pleasant. I am the librarian for our church library, and this book is definitely going to be added (as soon as I can find it).

Spiritual Warfare Equipping

This is an excellent book on exposing some of the lies & tactics of the enemy and then how to combat and defeat these lies that have kept people in bondage for generations upon generations. Though the actual reading of this book is quite simple, the content of the book for where I am spiritual was very powerful and many of the things I learned were totally new to me.

Though I'm very well-versed as a lay Bible person, having been a Christian for many years, it's only been the past few years the prophetic, destiny type things have been something I was interested in. Maybe these things were told to me, but I just wasn't opened to receiving the messages and now I am.

She talks about some of the bad guys in the Bible and goes more in-depth into the history of things, sharing her experiences, and backing things up with Scripture & prayer. She outlines/lists characteristics of certain evil spirits, including unclean spirits and how they may manifest in our daily lives. This was so eye-opening for me and explained the bondage I've been in.

Loved that in a number of the chapters, there were prayers of renunciation/rebuking/repentence of the evil spirits/poor choices/generational curses that we've allowed or are in our lives. Things really made sense. It took me nearly 2 months to read this book because there was so much meat in it for me to digest.

I'd read a chapter or 2 and then go digest/implement things in my life through prayer. I'd share with my life groups what I was learning and other Christian friends. This book as well as the other books of Sandie's are life changing. God bless her.

Illustrated Plates at the Close Make it Worthwhile, But Otherwise a Pretty Dry Read

OK for electric car buffs maybe, but was a slow read for me. Does have an active table of contents which can be of help, tho I was rarely ever engaged in the material. I'd suggest having a free sample sent first and taking it out for a 'test drive' before you buy.

Satisfactory.. but it's a shame

After finishing this book I felt disappointed. I wanted to like it and it was recommended by someone that I value their opinion. I think the problem was I just finished "Prophet of Innovation: Joseph Schumpeter and Creative Destruction" and that is an absolutely great book. This book was boring in spots and didn't explain enough of Keynes ideas. If you want to read a great book on economists, please read the book I just mentioned. I'm disappointed in the one but it just has too many issues to warrant a higher recommendation.

Harrod's biography is a good read if the reader is simply interested in general information about Keynes concerning his background,where he went to school,his friends and assocates,his multifacted and varied interests and successes in many different areas of life,etc.
The problem is that Harrod never understood the technical nature of the A Treatise on Probability or General Theory(GT).He basically concluded that the GT WAS the Chapter 10 analysis that revolved around the marginal propensity ot consume(mpc),the multiplier,and the Y=C+I model where C=bY,where b=mpc and 0

"Thrive: Life-Giving Disciplines for a Chaotic World" is a beautiful resource that provides a healing balm for our hurried souls.

The 21st-century culture promotes a couple of false assumptions. First, faster is better and more productive. Second, that 'newer' is always better. Newer technology beats older technology. Newer medical resources beat treatments from decades past. But in reality, timeless truths still exist, and we need to pay attention to ancient wisdom.

In Thrive, Markene Meyer helps us reintegrate some timeless truths and ancient wisdom by teaching, guiding, and providing practice of spiritual disciplines from early Christianity. Each week, Meyer provides time for practice and includes contemplative questions regarding our practice experiences. I found each unit's teaching, time of practice, and questions for contemplation to provide deep soul-rest for myself and others weary of attempting to engage God with formulas or practices that have grown too routine, too laborious, or no longer fit well in a current season of life.

Markene Meyer also encourages us to consider our unique, divine-designs in the culmination of Thrive in order to create a rule of life. Our personalized "Rule" provides creative ways and practices that resonate with each of us to engage God as Christ-followers in healing ways that are life-giving. She provide several different examples of some rules of life from real people, which was so helpful. As we consider our individuality, which practices we resonate with us, and which spiritual disciplines fit well with our current Life circumstances, she leads us through writing our own rule of life. A Fresh Take on Spiritual Disciplines
What a refreshing and inspiring book! The author paints a clear picture to finding a "more life-giving way," a way to find Jesus amidst the chaos of modern life. I loved the structure of this book and the whole idea behind a developing a "rule of life.” The book walks the reader through developing a personal “rule of life,” an ancient practice that has a way of centering modern readers. I also loved the focus on getting into God’s rhythm for our life, something badly needed in today’s harried culture. I found the book challenging and thought-provoking. If you’re looking for inspiration, a book to help breathe new life into your spiritual life, you’ll like Thrive.
